The Role
At Lonza, the Analytical Scientist will play a crucial role in the development, optimisation, and troubleshooting with the use of analytical methods.
Lonza has an excellent opportunity to become a member of a team consisting of approximately 80 individuals and to lead, plan, and carry out experiments. You will assess and interpret raw data & information to generate high-quality process knowledge, all the while engaging in complex projects and collaborating with customers to demonstrate project progress, understand their needs, address project challenges, and ultimately deliver an exceptional experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for the design, execution, and delivery of multiple projects (safety, quality, right first time, on time), including the completion of project dashboards
- Critically review and interpret raw data & information to produce good quality process knowledge
- Write reports to an agreed standard suitable for final review by the project lead
- Represent the department as part of a multi-disciplinary customer project team
- Develop an area of subject matter expertise/specialist knowledge
- Provided scientific input into customer proposals and amendments
- Initiate problem-solving/troubleshooting activities and advance as appropriate
- Participate in IMS out-of-hours rota
- A BSc or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific/technical subject area
- Knowledge of using Analytical Methods, i.e. using Biacore with techniques such as SPR, ELISA/plate-based methods, and cell-based methods
- Experience of implementing automated methods and digitisation of processes would be an advantage
- Proven experience of working in a regulatory environment, ideally Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) or a Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) environment
- Outstanding organisational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively determine project priorities and meet deadlines
