UK Regulators' Network

Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Leeds
Contract type: Contractor
Regulator of Social Housing

The Regulator of Social Housing regulates registered providers of social housing to promote an efficient and well-governed sector that can deliver homes to meet a range of needs, https://careers.regulatorofsocialhousing.org.uk/

Requirements of the role

We are currently looking for three Analysts, covering economic and consumer analysis, to join our Business Intelligence team at the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH). The team plays a leading role in understanding strategic issues and sector risks that impact social housing providers, using this analysis to shape our approach to regulating both economic and consumer standards.

Two of the posts focus primarily on strategic analysis including value for money. The third post focuses on consumer analysis, covering areas such as repairs, building safety, and tenant satisfaction. While these posts have a specific focus it is likely the successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute across these areas.

With a career at RSH you’ll be joining an organisation that gives you the opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives, regulating a sector that houses 4 million people across England.

About The Role

Analysts deliver and develop economic or consumer analytical projects to enable the regulator to maintain a leading understanding of important sector risks and strategic issues.

This will involves undertaking in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis on risks and trends affecting social housing providers, including registered Local Authorities or other key strategic issues for the regulator, and using this to inform decision makers within the regulator, central government and the wider sector.

The roles span a broad range of topics, including landlord performance information, policy changes, tenant satisfaction, macro-economic risks, social and economic impact assessments, and cost-benefit analysis.

Two of the roles will have a focus on supporting value for money regulation. The team works with others across the Regulator to jointly develop our approach to the full range of the regulator’s standards, particularly on financial viability, rents and value for money.

The third role will focus on consumer analysis, developing analysis to understand how landlords are responding to proactive consumer regulation. This includes analysis of repairs and maintenance, stock condition, building safety and tenant satisfaction. As part of the Economics and Consumer Analysis Team, there will also be opportunities to contribute to analysis across the team’s wider portfolio of work.

Analysts have the opportunity to contribute to high‑profile regulatory publications and official statistics, such as Tenant Satisfaction Measures and Value for Money metrics publications.

We are happy to discuss the role further at interview and with successful candidates prior to appointment.
