Core Responsibilities
We are looking for an Associate Engineer / Software Engineer with experience in MATLAB/Simulink to join our growing R&D team.
In this role, you will support the design, development, integration, and maintenance of models and software applications within a real-time simulation environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to high-quality software development, testing, and continuous improvement of simulation systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 1–3 years of experience looking to develop their career within advanced engineering and simulation.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain models using MATLAB / Simulink
- Produce clean, robust, and maintainable code aligned with development standards
- Take ownership of assigned components or features
- Collaborate with modelling, integration, and systems engineers to deliver project milestones
- Participate in code reviews and implement feedback
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects
- Support integration, testing, and real-time simulation activities
- Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor progress and escalate risks or issues when required
- Occasional travel to support integration or project activities
Essential
- Degree (BSc or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience using MATLAB / Simulink
- Understanding of real-time systems
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Automotive engineering experience or strong interest
- Experience with Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulators
- Interest in vehicle dynamics, cars, or driving simulation
- Knowledge of EtherCAT / TwinCAT (Beckhoff)
- Exposure to simulation or control systems environments
- Methodical and detail-oriented approach
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Team player with a collaborative mindset
- Proactive, organised, and accountable
- Willingness to learn and grow technically
- Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced environment
