We are currently looking for two proactive and customer focused people to join our team in the role of Agriculture Relationship Manager. One position is based in Newcastle and the other in York.


This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Agriculture Team where you’ll engage with our existing and prospective agriculture customers to help them realise their ambitions. As a Relationship Manager, your key goal will be to operate as a person of influence to our customers and to ensure you deliver world-class customer service.

In this role you’ll:


  • Conduct face to face meetings with Agriculture customers, with up to 80 clients in portfolio
  • Provide outstanding customer service to these clients, driving revenue growth through understanding customer needs and by adopting a needs-based approach which engages clients and increases new business
  • Grow the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand the portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network
  • Learn about the customer's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes
  • Undertake pro-active credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews managing financial crime risk by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring and mitigating risk while adhering to HSBC’s operational risk standards and policies


To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:


  • Experience of working in Business/Corporate Banking or Financial Services
  • Relationship management or client management experience with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service
  • Experience of agriculture would be advantageous
  • Commercial lending skills and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and share information in a clear, concise and accurate way
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management
  • A full driving licence in order to attend face to face meetings with customers in Carlisle and the surrounding area
