Advanced Research & Development Engineer/Scientist
We have an opportunity for an Advanced Research & Development Engineer/Scientist to join us at Honeywell, in Portsmouth, where you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in New Product Development (NPI) and Research and Technology (R&T). Responsibilities include leading technical support, implementing improvements to products and processes, guiding obsolescence projects by identifying alternative components, and maintaining accurate records of experimental work. Additionally, it involves conducting lab testing, data analysis, and reporting findings in technical meetings, while assisting the Project Manager with project plans and activities.
This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership in New Product Development (NPI) and Research and Technology (R&T).
- Direct technical support and problem-solving activities for various functions.
- Implement improvements to existing products and processes.
- Guide obsolescence projects by identifying and validating alternative components and materials.
- Conduct lab testing, data analysis, and report findings, while assisting the Project Manager with project planning and control.
- Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with expertise in Electrochemistry and hands-on laboratory experience (good working knowledge of chemistry and gas sensor technologies are helpful).
- Extensive experience in research, particularly in new technologies, within a scientific environment.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions, including Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Procurement.
- Strong background in New Product Introduction (NPI) and product development.
- Excellent data processing, report writing, and presentation skills, combined with a proactive, ambitious, and results-oriented mindset.
