Job Summary

Do you have excellent numerical, communication and organisational skills? Are you a team worker with the ability to use your own initiative? If the answer is yes, then we are looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Clerk to join Public Accounts, Business and Finance.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job Description

Inputting various payments onto the MOD accounting system COM. Once a voucher is raised the payment is then entered on Bankline for authorisation and payment. Actioning all recoveries and bills via the MOD WebIris system.

Issuing Railcards and Photocards to entitled Service Personnel and their dependants. Upon receipt of applications ensure all information is included and correct. Maintaining the register and booking an appointment for the issue of the Railcards and Photocards. Completion of the end of month return.

Paying ESS bills with the electronic Procurement Card which can be paid via the phone or online. Complete the Physical Evidence Template (PET) each time payments are made which includes copies of the invoices, authorisation to pay and receipts for the payments.

Providing advice and guidance on all aspects of Public Accounting.

Maintaining the Losses Register. Prepare Quarterly Returns and End of Year Returns to Air Cmd.

To register Income Generation requests for payments and rebate requests.

Checking the Bank Statement on a weekly basis to ensure it is 100% and all payments/receipts have COM voucher issued correctly

Keeping all Accounts Guides for every task up to date and formally reviewed twice a year to ensure current.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
